What’s A “Reformed Presbyterian”
If you're new to Christianity or searching for a church, you may wonder what "Reformed Presbyterian" means. While the name may sound unfamiliar, our aim is simple: to know God through His Word, to worship Him as He has commanded, and to make the good news of Jesus Christ known.
We are an ordinary Christian church that believes the Bible is God's Word and that it is sufficient to guide our faith and lives. Our greatest desire is that people would come to know Jesus Christ as Saviour and grow in a lifelong relationship with Him.
What We Believe
Everything we believe is founded on the Bible. We believe there is one true and living God who created all things, that every person has sinned and fallen short of God's standard, and that God, in His love and mercy, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save sinners.
Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross for sin, and rose again from the dead. Salvation is not something we can earn by our own efforts, but is God's free gift, received through faith in Christ alone.
Why "Reformed"?
The word Reformed refers to the biblical truths rediscovered and emphasised during the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century. These include the authority of Scripture, salvation by God's grace alone through faith in Christ alone, and the glory of God in all things.
Being Reformed means that we seek to shape our beliefs, worship, and lives according to what the Bible teaches, rather than according to changing traditions or culture.
Why "Presbyterian"?
The word Presbyterian describes how our church is led. The New Testament teaches that each congregation should be cared for by elders who work together to shepherd God's people.
These elders are accountable to one another through a wider fellowship of churches, providing mutual encouragement, wisdom, and oversight.
What to Expect
When you visit, you'll find a congregation of ordinary people from different ages and backgrounds who gather to worship God together. Our services centre on prayer, congregational singing, Bible reading, and the preaching of God's Word.
You do not need to know anything about church beforehand. Whether you have been a Christian for many years or have never attended church before, you are warmly welcome.
Our Worship
We believe that worship is about giving glory to God rather than entertaining ourselves. Our services are reverent, joyful, and centred on the teaching of Scripture.
We sing the Psalms together, pray, read the Bible, and listen to biblical preaching as we seek to worship God in the way He has revealed.
Our Community
Church is more than a Sunday service. Throughout the week we meet for Bible studies, prayer meetings, youth activities, fellowship groups, and other opportunities to encourage one another and grow in our faith.
We seek to care for one another, serve our local community, and share the hope of the gospel with those around us.
